After watching the game against blackburn just now,i feel utterly dissapointed, the game again bringing back feelings of de ja vu from last season..arsenal failing to hold a lead..i mean we started the game brightly,in fact,i havent seen the team play such good attacking football in a long long time, gervinho and arshavin raiding the wings, ramsey song and arteta dominating the middle...however, the problem was when we lost the ball, our defending was particularly atrociuos,i dont mean the individual players,i mean the whole team, the pressing on the ball was just not there, when it came to set pieces the team just looked in total disarray.
This is not against man u,chelsea,or barcelona, but against a blackburn side who's fans had a protest for the teams bad form just before the game.
I beleive the individual personel we have are definitely good enough to rip apart a team like blackburn, but i feel that because of the way we defend we will always have problems and this is the fault of Mr. Wenger,i mean what does he tell the boys in training,'just go out there attack and attack and attack',because when we dont have the ball there seems to be no technical organization by the team on how to get it back or how to defend.
Lets look back at the man u game, yes i know we had many players missing, but that team was more than capable of coming away from old trafford with a respectable scoreline(i mean nothing more than 3-0), but the way the team was shaped, they way they defended as a team meant there was just no way that could happen. A team that plays well together when they don't have the ball is ultimately capable of masking the individual frailties of some of its players, but a team that doesnt,no matter how good the individual players are is bound to concede the way we do...look at barcelona, against villareal earlier this season they played a 3 4 3 formation, and 2 of the players at the back(busquets and masherano) were not even CBs,but the way they when they dont have the ball, its difficult to get at them.
In my opinion, if wenger cant get our team to be better organized defensively, maybe he add somebody to the backroom staff that can, because the way things are going,i don't see them getting better anytime soon, because if this poor form should continue,i don't think AW will last till the start of next season

The Chamberlaine Signing
Yeterday we received the news that arseanl completed the signing of alex-oxlade chamberlaine from southampton. many arsenal fans have different views to this and i chose to examine critically what this may mean to the club.
first of all, i must admit it all came to me as a shock to hear he was having a medical at arsenal because things have been so quiet, this shows us Wenger keeps his cards close to his chest, and while chamberlaine might not be the signing most people were looking forward to, i will go back on what i said in my last post and say we should all have patience with wenger. i mean, look at how this signing came up, we had all almost forgoten about chamberlaine, there was little news in the press about it until he was spoted having the medical. i feel this shows wenger must really have plans but just is not willing to reveal them, lets just wait and see, with all this clamour and T.Vs injury, i am sure wenger knows he will have to get 1 or 2 world class defenders, who knows, tomorow we might wake up tomorow hearing cahill or meterseker or even a player who hasn't been linked at all with arsenal,is having a medical.
secondly, let examine the chamberlaine signinig..personally i don't see why anybody should be complaining, the fact that we need a denfeder or a striker, still doesn't mean we shouldnt plan for the future,it doesn't mean chamberlaine is not a good player with the potential of being great, and doesnt mean he is not a good signing..i am just saying that at this point ,complaints are premature, if at the end of august, mr wenger still hasn't made the signings we need(and i seriously doubt that,he is under more pressure than he has ever been) then we can say..'why didn't u do this and that',but for now, lets be patient

What the hell is Wenger doing?
I have been watching the transfer window with interest this season, partly because wenger said this summer was going to be busy, but also because of the unrest in the club caused by the Fabregas and Nasri situation. And now i am seeing a pattern being established at arsenal which worries me a great deal.
And here it, mr Wenger's transfer policy has been to either bring in young players through the youth academy,or to find the brightest young talent in the world through our extensive scouting system, and sign them before they make their break out and become too expensive...good examples are diaby who was signed from Auxere after making just 5 starts for the first team..even Carl Jenkinson has only ever played 9 games for the Charlton first team,Rvp was signed for only 2.5m... But from time to time money is actually spent on a marquee signing if they will not cost the team too much..examples are Hleb(£10m),nasri(£15m).
Now what has now been bugging me about this transfer policy is that it seems to be turning arsenal to a selling club like the like of ajax, psv and lyon...and why.. Because what we have in common with these clubs is to sell our key players and replace them with players already in the team. Also its the policy responsible for our 6 year trophy drought.
Now this policy would have been a smashing success if wenger had just agreed to dip into the teams bugdet,or even use the money from transfers to reinvest in the team. The policy has produced some great players for the team: hleb, nasri, fabregas, diaby, wilshere, ramsey, gibbs, song, etc. But we have seen it over and over again in the last couple of seasons that the team has always been so close to winning the title, but at the end, either lacked the depth of squad, character, steel, the winning mentality or experience. And yes ladies and gentlemen, these are things that can be bought...till today when i see xabi alonso play i regret the fact wenger didn't buy him cos of just 2m.
Also a big problem is the effect it has on the players, look at the mess we are in today with Fabregas and Nasri,at least when henry and vieira left it wasn't cos we were not winning anything at all,it was cos we were not winning the champions league. I am very sure if arsenal had won a few trophies in the last couple of seasons, and was competing actively in the champions league, and if wenger were seriously trying to improve the squad, fabregas would not be leaving us at this moment and would in fact be showing strong loyalty to the team publicly, but rather he is faced with a situation where he has won nothing at the age of 24 and is at a team where the future still looks bleak because of a manager who will not invest.Same with nasri,he is a very ambitious player and wants to win trophies,i have a feeling nasri would have signed a new contract if wenger had showed some real seriousness by wasting no time in signing samba, cahill and mata, but yet,the manager waits, why?,nobody knows.
So we are at a crossroads again, where we can see the cycle of the previous cycles continue,we sell fab and nasri, and mr wenger comes out saying how the team can compete without those two players. What will happen in the next 2 seasons when wilshere and ramsey become great players but without medals, how long before rvp gets tired, he is not that far off 30,with little achievements to show.
I would like to end by commenting on arsenal's handling of the mata's transfer, and i hate to use this word, but they were STUPID. And i just wonder is arsenal run by people who are such skinflints it makes them myopic. The buyout clause on mata's contract meant that if before july 31st we had made a bid of 22m,they would have accepted, why the board decided to make a 15m bid,i dont kno,to******m,who seem to be run by smarter people were ready to pay if not that mata said he wasn't interested, now his price has gone up to 30m,pity. God please help arsenal this season, cos wenger and the board surely arent.

the NLC strike
the nlc goin on stike tomorrow got just got me thinking about the issues. the government, mainly state governments have been stalling on the payment of the N18,000 minimum wage signed by the president just before the elections in april. now i just do not know why this can be happening,it is a known fact nigerian politicians are the highest paid in the whole world,so much so that they do everything to make sure nobody knows precisely how much they earn.the only thing we get is rumours, however,in 1999 the basic salary of a governor was 2.3m,this is minus all their silly silly allowances(it is said their newspaper allowance is 150k per month). these figures are from 12yrs ago,i imagine these figures havebeen increased in geometric proportions. it is even much more worse for members of our house of assembly, imean these people havr the right to FIX their salaries as they see fit,can u imagine that. nigeria is the only country people go into politics, and even if they do not emmbezle any money, come out of office very wealthy people, also recurrent expenditure as sanusi lamido revealed to us(and they almost fried him for it) is 25% percent of our budget, imagine, our government uses 25% of our gdp to run itself, for every 1 naira nigeria makes 25kobo goes back to paying our politians and other government expenses.
having said all this, the fact that these people who earn all this money are trying to deny the common man 18,000 minimum wage, and the govrrnors even claimed there was no money for it,in fact they suggested fuel sibsidy should be removed to pay the wage,in other words, giving something with the right hand, taking it with the left. also, i noticed the president has been completely silent on the issue, does he think his only duty was signing the bill,he is strrriking me as a weak man,i mean look at the boko haram situation, but thats discussion for another day,i didnt vote for him anyway,y'all did.
yes i beleive the nlc should go on this strike and not back down from there demand, and if after the warning strike nothing happens, they should go on a proper strike no matter ho long it takes till those greedy people give us our right
